SkinPen® Microneedling is not painful. During a medically-supervised microneedling treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied 30 minutes before treatment begins. This topical anesthetic temporarily restricts blood flow to the treatment site so you can’t feel it. Once the skin is sufficiently numb. the SkinPen® microneedling process will begin.
Some may feel a mild or warm stinging sensation, however it is not painful. Since the face and neck have some bone and muscle contouring, there may be slight sensitivity or mild pressure, however, SkinPen® Microneedling is virtually painless.
