Wearing a mask is essential and respectful, however, there is a small, yet avoidable caveat – mask-acne aka ‘maskne’. Where there is pressure or lack of circulation, there can be breakdown of the skin, which can lead to inflammation and flare ups in dermatitis, eczema, acne, and other skin issues.
It is most advisable to wear masks that are breathable and antimicrobial. We love our EnVy Copper Masks.

Helpful Tips for Avoiding ‘Maskne’
➡️ Use a hyaluronic serum on top of your preferred moisturizer to maintain adequate skin hydration. This serum is great for ALL skin types and skin tones. It replenishes pH-balanced lasting hydration
➡️ If your mask has rubber straps that irritate your skin, try wrapping a thin piece of gauze so to create a barrier
➡️ If wearing a mask inflames your eczema, add a little manuka honey paste to your hydrocortisone cream or preferred healing cream for extra comfort. Manuka honey is incredible for wound repair
➡️ Avoid harsh cleansers and other skincare products that can strip your skin of essential moisture
➡️ Always wash your face at the end of the day. Use a silk or satin antimicrobial pillowcase to maintain healthy, balanced skin (and hair)
